CARENZE DI MAGNESIO

Bassi livelli di magnesio nel plasma, chiamati ipomagnesiemia, sono molto comuni: si trovano nel 2,5-15% della popolazione generale. Dal 2005 al 2006, il 48% della popolazione americana ha consumato meno magnesio di quanto raccomandato dalla guida di riferimento.

Altre cause di ipomagnesemia includono: aumento dell’escrezione renale o fecale, aumento della sostituzione intracellulare e uso di inibitori della pompa protonica per la terapia antiacida.

La maggior parte dei casi di carenza di magnesio sono asintomatici. Possono essere anche correlati ad anoressia, nausea, vomito, disfunzione neuromuscolare-aumento dell’eccitabilità e spasmo-disfunzione cardiovascolare-aritmia, vasodilatazione-disfunzione metabolica e sintomi di coma. L’alcolismo è solitamente correlato alla carenza di magnesio.

L’alcolismo cronico rappresenta la condizione più frequentemente associata a un deficit secondario di magnesio, sia per un ridotto apporto, sia per l’eccessiva escrezione renale indotta dall’etanolo.

CONSIGLI D’USO

Adulti: 1 cucchiaino fino a due volte al giorno; Donne in gravidanza: 1 cucchiaino due volte al giorno; Bambini 3-14 anni: mezzo cucchiaino al giorno.

Sciogliere un cucchiaino in un bicchiere di acqua tiepida (circa 200ml). Mescolare e attendere fino al raggiungimento di una maggiore limpidezza della soluzione. Agitare prima del primo utilizzo.

Può essere assunto in qualsiasi momento della giornata fino ad un massimo di due volte al giorno.

AVVERTENZE

La presenza di precipitato sul fondo non preclude la bontà del prodotto. In caso di effetto lassativo assumere il prodotto la sera, riducendo la dose fino a raggiungere il dosaggio meglio tollerato. In caso di sensibilità gastrica assumere a stomaco pieno.
